Method

During the first year, the learning enviroment will be complemented with seven course instructional material modules (courseware) that will be constructed from scratch, one module by each partner in his own native language.

Without this materila the experiment cannot be carried out. Care will be taken as this courseware to be of high quality, otherwise the experiment will be invalidated right from the start. For this reason all partners will use an established courseware development methodology.

At the end of the first year each partner will have developed courseware for one course in his own native language. This will be the national version of the respective course.

During the second year each partner will conduct the experiment by using the learning enviroment and the specific courseware that he has develped during the first year. This implies:

• delivering of a course which will be taken only by native students
• collection and analysis of data for evaluation purposes.

In parallel with this activity, each partner will translate his own courseware from the native language into English. This version will be the international version of the respective course instructional mateial.

At the end of the second year each partner will have finished both versions of his courseware as well as the results of the analysis of the evaluation data of his course delivered the old way and the new way (ODL based way) using native students only.

During the third year each partner will conduct the experiment by using the learning enviroment and both versions of the specific courseware that he has developed during the first and second year. This implies:

• delivering of a course which will be taken by native students as well as by students from other countries participating in the project,
• collection and analysis of data for evaluation purposes,
• merging of evaluation results from the second and third year.

At the end of the third year a final report presenting the results of the project will be prepared.
