Courseware development methodology |
An engineering approach will be employed for the development of courseware similar to one used in software development, since courseware is a special case of software. With software we automate information processes and with courseware teaching processes. Though it is not within the scope of these pages to give a detailed description of the methodology to be used in the project, a sketch of the methodology is based on a courseware develpment model and has as components development methods, management methods, standards and tools.
Courseware development methodology
- The courseware development model will be a variant of the waterfall model. It depicts the main development subprocesses and in which order these subprocesses must be carried out.
- The development methods give an answer to how each development subprocess, defined in the courseware development model, must be carried out as well as how to observe the proper incorporation of didactic and pedagogical principles in the courseware.
- The management methods give an answer to how to manage the whole project.
- The tools are used for supporting the development process.
- The standards provide solutions to recurring problems.
